traditional Boat decoration
Most cargo carrying craft, especially narrow boats, of the inland waterways had some form of painted decoration. Ginny takes commissions for water cans & barrels, cabin stools, dippers, hand bowls & other painted items found on narrow boats. She also does back cabin decoration (including graining), doors & exterior decoration painted directly onto the boat. She has her own distinctive style which is however very much in keeping with tradition.
Ginny is also interested in keeping alive the "bright work" style of painting found on the "short" and "long" boats of the Leeds & Liverpool canal & specialises in this.
Ginny is a Waterways Craft Guild accredited Decorative Painter and Signwriter.
